We are looking for a senior-level UX designer to join the team. We offer a generous salary based on experience and location, which could be anywhere from $50,000 to $90,000 per year.
We'd love to talk with you if…

you have plenty of experience designing consumer products for Android, and a strong familiarity with Material Design.
you enjoy being wrong and don't take yourself too seriously.
you are excited to deliver functional, pragmatic, and clean designs at a fast pace.
you prefer to focus on wireframes over high-fidelity UI.
you’re a clear, empathetic communicator.
you love to understand the entire system of the product.
you have reliable methods to test your work quickly.
We are looking for a contract UX Designer to create web experiences that are intuitive, attractive, modern and usable.
In this role, you should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to understand the value an application offers to the end-user, the challenges of making that value available in an intuitive way, and you should be able to come up with creative ways to solve that challenge.
A strong portfolio of successful UX and other technical projects is essential. You will also need to be technical enough to have an informed conversation with the engineering team about the application, how it works and the technical challenges of creating user interface flows and elements.
Ultimately, you will make our products more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain customers.
This role will have you working on a specific product within the Defiant team. We'll share more details with top candidates and ask for a brief proposal.

Do you want to redesign a simple product that is used and loved by millions of people around the world? You’ve knocked at the right door.
We are looking for a highly motivated Product Designer to join our fast growing team! As you will notice, our UI and UX need a lot of work. So far we’ve made do with open-source frameworks and freelance work here and there. We are now at a stage where we have comfortable product/market fit and are ready to invest in design in order to give our customers the product experience they deserve. We want to put design back where it belongs: first.
Working as the first Product Designer at AwesomeTable is a unique opportunity. We have a small team, so you won’t be one of dozens and your impact will be felt inside and outside the company. You’ll be working on a product that is used by millions of people. You will help drive us in new directions. You’ll help us see things we haven’t seen before, consider things we’ve never considered before, and bring fresh perspective to our team. Brighten us up and put a big smile on our customers’ faces.

Seek and understand customer requirements and pains
Make the AwesomeTable brand shine
You have successfully revamped a product interface from scratch before, and you’d like to do it again for us. You understand the constraints that come with such a project

You ask questions to get to the bottom of why something should happen and thus how to best make it happen
You understand that design is scale-dependent
You start with constraints, functions and processes, not from a wireframe
You think in terms of dynamics and what happens through time, not snapshots

You are fascinated by spreadsheets
A self starter capable of working autonomously, as well as within a diverse team setting

Our mission at Farmstead is to make fresh, high-quality food accessible to everyone. We’re a new delivery-only grocer that’s re-inventing grocery from the ground up. We focus on mid-market customers (think Safeway, Kroger, etc) and bring them a best-in-class grocery product experience right to their doorsteps, even in areas traditionally underserved by supermarket chains. We accomplish this by writing consumer-facing and operations orchestration code that allows us to be highly efficient relative to legacy supermarkets.
AS OF MARCH 2020 WE ARE SEEING UNPRECEDENTED DEMAND FOR GROCERY DELIVERY AS CUSTOMERS SEEK TO STAY HOME AND AVOID COVID-19. We are growing explosively and because of our small team, we are ready to hand over huge chunks of responsibility to smart, reliable people who get things done.
You are an accomplished Designer with experience building beautiful, mobile-first digital products. As the first Designer at Farmstead, you will define our visual language and advocate for design across the company and in many formats - consumer product, photography, print, and ads. You appreciate the trade-off between perfect polish and execution speed and help make sure that we ship quickly while maintaining a high bar for quality.
You’ve worked on early-stage startups before, and you’re willing to develop an appreciation for how the business works and how the designs you ship directly impact our KPIs. You know that sometimes the most beautifully designed features don’t solve the intended problem right away. You’re patient when you have to start again with the insights you’ve gained from a test, because you realize that building a world-class product takes time and many (many) iterations.
You will work closely with the Farmstead Product team to create high-fidelity mocks and you like to share them early and often. You take and receive feedback in a considerate way, but you also know when to stick with your ideas. You communicate well with Engineering to make sure that your designs are executed correctly down to the pixel, across multiple device sizes.
You’re a self-starter who’s able to dig in and understand how we can improve design across every area of the company. You like getting to know your teammates and you’re thoughtful about how your designs directly impact their day-to-day. You have a high bandwidth and can manage projects across multiple departments without losing your cool if unexpected setbacks arise.
Your portfolio shows you have excellent digital product design skills and a strong attention to detail across multiple device sizes
You have 2+ years experience shipping high-quality designs, especially in an early-stage startup
You work primarily in Sketch and are comfortable in Photoshop and Illustrator
You’ve helped an early-stage product develop its design language and scale
You’re passionate about and willing to advocate for a consistent visual language
You thrive in a fast-paced environment where the feedback cycle is often real-time and unexpected issues arise
You also have experience working in other formats - print and ads
Respect for product leaders and business KPIs - you understand the trade-offs between shipping tests and polishing designs
You take and give feedback in a considerate way
You are effective at both written and verbal communication, and at expressing ideas through mocks and prototypes
Are you able to write thorough and engaging UX research findings?
Would you like to join a team of dedicated usability research writers, who analyze and write about cutting-edge User Experience research? Producing UX research findings that will be used by thousands of web professionals, including some of the biggest brands in the world (including Nike, Sears, Lenovo, Etsy)? Are you excellent at presenting complex research findings on web user behavior through the written word?
Then apply for the following remote full-time position at Baymard Institute.
About Your Job at Baymard
In this position, you will join Baymard’s team of usability researchers and primarily work with analyzing our raw annotated usability test data and writing the insights from this into usability guidelines. The guidelines go directly into our subscription platform Baymard Premium.
Our Baymard Premium customers are eagerly waiting for your UX research insights, be it the UI designer at Nike or the e-commerce director at Lenovo, as they use it as direct input for their UX and UI design decisions.
In this role, you’ll need to enjoy writing, since writing and articulating usability test findings will be at least 80% of what you’ll be doing all year round.
Besides writing, the job involves analyzing web user behavior, identifying themes and issues across multiple sites, and coming up with proposals for design patterns that can alleviate the identified problems. The test data primarily come from qualitative moderated think-aloud usability tests (experience with usability testing is a plus, but not a requirement).
In this job, you’ll be directly shaping the future of e-commerce, become a published usability research author within your first couple of months on the job, and should expect to join the ranks of the absolute top experts within e-commerce usability within a few years (if you aren’t already).
Along with analyzing and writing duties, you’ll also contribute to peer reviewing (helping colleagues craft their own writing) and quality assurance of writing across the team for content and consistency. Previous experience editing with developmental editing or copyediting, is therefore an advantage.
We want to work with the smartest and most dedicated people around the world, and the position is therefore open to full-time remote work. All of Baymard’s current team is already working remotely, so the entire company is structured around remote work. In other words, you are welcome to work with us from any location you prefer — as long as there’s a stable internet connection.
While we will train you in Baymard’s methodology and analysis process, we expect that you have the following qualifications. The numbers in brackets indicate the weighted importance of each on a 7-point scale (higher = more important). These weights reflect how candidates are evaluated, so make sure your application illustrates your prowess in the highest-weighted skills and traits.
[7/7] Requirement: Substantial experience with technical or professional writing. This experience can come from many paths, e.g. a background in journalism, technical writing, research, etc.
[4/7] Strong reasoning and logical deduction skills. Specifically in relation to your ability to deconstruct user behavior and understand what can and cannot be concluded from our usability research data (typically this is qualitative think-aloud test session data).
[3/7] Editor experience, by helping other writers craft and improve their own written work.
[3/7] Experience at some level of usability research (e.g., conducting think-aloud usability test sessions, analyzing data, writing findings).
[3/7] Ability to propose web design recommendations for the usability issues we identify.
[3/7] Familiarity with the ‘web industry’ and especially its jargon (can be from experience with web development, design, research, writing, etc.).
[2/7] Experience using a style manual (e.g. Chicago Manual of Style, APA, AP, or similar substantial style manual).
We furthermore expect that you are comfortable working remotely via digital platforms. However, as most of our team is either based in the eastern USA or western Europe, you must have at least 2 hours of daily scheduled work overlap with those timezones.
Salary: in accordance with qualifications. Start date: as soon as possible.
How to Apply
If you’re interested in this position, please send the following:
One long-form writing sample (1,000+ words) or a series of samples that collectively demonstrate your writing. Ideally, these are on a web-related topic (e.g., information architecture, UX, or documentation). Samples can be both published or unpublished works, all materials are kept confidential. (Note: slide decks and samples with multiple authors are not considered. You may submit samples that had external/peer editing, but then explain the scope of it.)
A cover letter and a resume/CV.
Other information you find relevant (hobbies, interests, ..).
Deadline is April 6th, 2020 - but apply as soon as possible.
Note: Based on the applications, a few selected candidates will be assigned a paid writing and analysis test, which will be the main evaluation criterion for the position. This will also be a good way for you to get a feel for the primary task of this job. (The test will be performed remotely. You’ll be given a real usability test dataset to analyze and describe within a 10-day deadline.)
Sincerely, Edward Scott, senior UX researcher at the Baymard Institute
Referral Bonus: If this job isn’t you, but you know someone who’ll be the perfect fit, please send them the link to this page. If we end up hiring the person you referred, we’ll give you one year of access to a Baymard Premium ‘Medium’ plan (a $1,560 value).

If you’re reading this, you’re interested in the Resource Manager position at Optimal (or maybe you know someone who would be a fit).
You will have a front-row seat in helping our company tangibly generate revenue growth for our clients. Specifically, you will be helping our team find, connect, and maintain relationships with expert freelance partners in various marketing fields.
We believe that one of the most powerful concepts is “Who Not How”. That too many people get stuck on "the how" when they just need to find the right "Who". The right person for any task or project will help you go faster, easier, better, and cheaper. Your mission - should you accept to take it - is to focus 100% on this concept.
We call our contractors “partners” because that is what they are to us, co-creators. We strive to work with the best and have authentic relationships.
We don't send all of our work to partners - in fact, we complete the majority of the work we do for our clients in-house. However, the work we choose to delegate to partners is often the most important work we could be doing with a client in a given quarter. We want the work to be the highest quality possible and to only work with the best partners possible - that's why a Resource Manager is so important. They help us find partners, ensure they're a great fit for our company, delegate the work, ensure effective utilization, monitor performance and grow positive partner relationships.
This is a non-technical role that bridges the gap between the outside world and our internal company.
Externally, you are focused on finding the VERY BEST partners to our team that have deep experience in specific domains. You interview them to see if they fit our culture and then help onboard them to our process.
Internally, you are the ultimate helper to our Growth Markers (who serve as account and project managers). Anytime they have work they want help with, you reference your extensive database of partners to find the right one (while making sure our favorite ones are not overbooked). You ensure clear delegation, great follow-through by the partner, and watch the budgets for contracted work. You facilitate 1 on 1 trainings, workshops, and standard operating procedures with the help of your partner network.
A Resource Manager is...
Reporting on partner utilization and profitability
Reducing client budgets when partners are used
Finding continuous improvement opportunities with partners
Partner recruiting when a partner doesn't exist in our network
Parter on-boarding into our existing systems
Partner work delegation
Partner relationship building and maintenance
Helping cover partner work when Growth Marketers are out on leave/vacation
Someone on the team has a need (first "who", then "how")
Issues arise with partners
Learning opportunities arise with partners
Growth marketers go on leave/vacation and what work they may need assistance with
We have increased partner needs due to our sales on-boarding schedule
We have great or poor results of our partner work
What We Are Looking For
A strong relationship builder
Organized and loves to plan
Have high follow-through, ensuring all requests are seen to their end-goal
Intrinsically motivated in helping others be successful
You're an expert "Googler" and can find anything you set your mind to
Excellent communication skills
Good understanding of project management tools
Experience organizing and delivering training programs
Able to set, follow, and update standard operating procedures
3-5 years professional business experience in:
Or, related field
Experience working remote
Basic understanding of internet marketing tactics/strategies
Salary & Benefits
$40,000 – $55,000; depending on qualifications and experience
Paid vacation that accumulates every year
Parental, Medical, and Bereavement leave policies
Group health insurance for employees and families
Paid Short-term disability insurance
Paid Long-term disability insurance
Paid Group term life insurance
Voluntary life insurance options
Option for 401k contribution
Autonomy - you take ownership of how work is completed
Flexible work hours
Ability to work remote
Education and growth potential
Employment anniversary celebrations
Bi-weekly "Donut" meet-ups with team with paid budget
Monthly informal office meet-ups
Beautiful office environment with views of the Fox River, equipped with free coffee, snacks, and La Croix
Focus - Eliminates distractions for deep work; believes in the philosophy of "less but better"
Radical candor - Cares personally and challenges directly with both the team and clients
Continuous improvement - Transforms losing opportunities into learning ones, invests in self with constant learning
Extreme Ownership - Able to effectively prioritize and complete work without constant management
How to Apply
We value great communicators, so take your time with the application. Keep in mind that we do not equate length with substance, so please keep your cover letter to fewer than 1500 words. SessionLab is the leading platform for workshop facilitation and process design. Too much time is wasted at poorly planned and badly facilitated meetings and workshops, and we are working to empower people to design and run better workshops.
More than 30.000 professionals, many of whom are designers, use our Software-as-a-Service product and we are proud to receive regular praise from our customers.
We are looking for a motivated UX designer to help our customers succeed in using SessionLab.
You'll be our main designer, working with our CTO, product owner, and front-end developer to take our product UX and design to the next level. You will be participating in all stages of the design process and will have a real impact on the product.
We are a bootstrapped software business, headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, and working across Europe with a fully remote 5-person team (team members currently in Sweden, Hungary, UK, Russia and Spain). Therefore, we are looking for somebody who is self-motivated, independent and who ideally has previous remote working experience.
What we are looking for:
You have experience working both on web and mobile apps.
You are a generalist with a wide set of design skills including user experience design, user interface design, information design and visual design (the order we’ve listed these skills here indicates our priorities).
You understand technical constraints, their impact, and can adjust your design approach accordingly. You enjoy the problem solving aspects of complex design challenges.
You are able to break down complex new designs into smaller design improvements that can be applied gradually instead of having one big release.
You seek to take on responsibilities and take ownership of the work you do.
You thrive working independently, but also enjoy collaborating with people from different disciplines and you always try to look at the big picture.
You are good at communicating with people from various backgrounds (e.g. developers, marketers, end-users).
Ability to navigate in the entire product development process, from discovery through to delivery and monitoring of the implemented solution.
Experience working remotely.
You are based within the time zones of UTC-1 to UTC+3
Advantages (not a must, but a big plus):
Any prior experience with workshop facilitation
Previous experience with SaaS products
Experience working closely with product managers and product owners - i.e. you are interested in taking an ownership of a complete product
Experience with modern collaborative UI design tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe XD, Abstract, InVision)
UX copywriting experience.
So, what will I be doing?
To give you an honest perspective of where we are now: in the past few years we have built SessionLab without an experienced designer on our team.
Now that we have growing capacity and appetite, not having a design-skilled person on the team slows down the development of user-facing features of our web app, not to mention increases our design debt.
This is where you come into the picture: we need someone to take ownership of our product design and make sure that we ship consistently good UX to our customers as we build the product further.
In more practical terms:
Collaboratively develop, implement and lead an effective design process.
Conduct user research and collaborate with our customer support team to gain better understanding of our users.
Work with our CTO, front-end developer and product owner to create elegant and thoughtful designs based on user needs and technical constraints.
Design new features but also gradually improving the overall UX of the application (we know it’s far from perfect).
Working both on current web app and future mobile application.
Develop coherent visual and design guidelines.
Working with our marketing team on improving UX of our public content (website, promotional materials, social media pages).
Design production-ready assets and materials, including icons, landing pages, digital ad creatives.
Why is this great for me?
Opportunity to get involved early in building and scaling a digital product. As the first dedicated designer on the team, you will take the lead and full overview of our design process.
Your role and responsibility will grow as our company grows.
Work remotely and create your own schedule (we believe in trust and autonomy)
Stable working environment that values work-life balance
You will also have a chance to travel a couple of times per year to live company meetings.
Open-minded working culture where we encourage sharing opinions and feedback.
You are passionate about creating great user experiences ?
The budgeted compensation range for this role is between €48,000 to €72,000 annually on B2B contract or matching gross salary as an employee (official employment status only available in certain countries). The actual compensation offered to a successful candidate will be based on relative experience and skills.
The compensation includes 20 calendar days per year plus your local holidays as paid time off, and additional remote working or home office setup support.
A short (up to 30-minute) non-technical video interview. (There will be no design assignment here, just a chat with one of the founders of SessionLab)
A hands-on design interview (60-minute video call)
The final candidate(s) are invited to a paid take-home project work. (A design project with a tangible deliverable that can be completed with overall ~10 hours of work over the duration of 1-2 weeks. You will develop a solution for real-life challenge and collaborate with our team over email/Slack/video)
Ready to join us in developing the greatest workshop design experience?

We're Team Bootcamp, and we make learning science easy. Our flagship product, DAT Bootcamp, is used by over 97% of pre-dental students around the US and Canada. We're a remote team growing slowly and profitably for seven years.
Students who use DAT Bootcamp are studying for a test that determines whether or not they'll be going to dental school. It's a very important time for them that presents many unique challenges to our team.
As a UX Designer of Team Bootcamp, you'll have the opportunity to design how our students prepare for the biggest test of their lives.
The meat of our product is a question bank that allows students to answer multiple choice questions. You'll be using Figma / Sketch and HTML & CSS to prototype beautiful and enjoyable ways for students to interact with our question bank, both on the web and mobile.
You'll be considering the emotional weight of studying in your designs. How can we provide emotional support during a process that at times can feel lonely? How can we create a sense of community around our product?
And how can we lower the friction to study so it's as simple as flipping open a book? We want to create beautiful and enjoyable study experiences, and that starts with your design.
You'll be working closely with our team of engineers, so clear communication is very important. Great writing skills are required. As we launch new question banks covering other sciences and tests, you’ll also help with designing our internal workflow and backend.
We have a small team, so your impact will be felt immediately.
